EU Environment Policy – Anticipating the Czech EU Presidency
17 December - 18 December 2008, Brussels (Pre-Presidency briefings on EU environment policy)
On the 1st January 2009 the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union will start. In order to prepare in advance the next EU Presidency the European Journalism Centre in co-operation with the European Commission’s Environment Directorate-General are organising a special two-day seminar on the forthcoming Czech EU Presidency.
The briefing (conducted in English and Czech) is especially tailored to journalists covering environmental issues in the media of the Czech Republic. It will take place in Brussels the 17 and the 18 December 2008. It will focus on the EU Environment Policy of the forthcoming Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2009.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet top EU officials, key players of the EU institutions and experts in Environment. They will also meet members of the Brussels-based press corps and independent experts.
Please note that travel, accommodation and some meals will be covered by the European Commission. The participants will arrive in Brussels the 16 December in the evening and they will depart the 18 December in the evening.
