Entrepreneurship in Europe
05 May - 05 May 2009, Brussels (Enterprise and Industry)

This seminar deals with the European shortage of innovative business startups. Too few Europeans wants to start their own business, partly because of obstacles and lack of finance, partly for cultural reasons. The problem exist in all EU countries and is particularly serious in the context of the current financial crisis.
Organizers are European Journalism Centre in cooperation with the General Directorate for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission.
The seminar is for European journalists - and not only reporters of economic and business issues. Journalists who produce general reportage and features on society are strongly encouraged to participate.
It takes place during the SME Week, one of the major events in the Brussels calendar, and will contain discussions on obstacles and solutions for would-be entrepreneurs, an interactive exhibition with successful entrepreneurs from across Europe, a talk show on how entrepreneurship is portrayed in European media and an award ceremony for three particularly creative and original videos on entrepreneurship.
