Water and the integrated and sustainable management of extreme water related events are amongst the priorities of the Hungarian EU Presidency during the first half of 2011.

The European Journalism Centre, in co-operation with the European Commission, will bring to Budapest 60 journalists coming from the EU-27 to a Water focused conference.

Held between 23-24 March 2011, the Water Conference will discuss water related issues in the context of climate change. The conference is organised as a follow-up to the COP 16 Cancun Summit from December 2010 and ahead of the COP17 meeting in Durban, South Africa.

The conference is open to journalists coming from national print, broadcast and online media from the EU-27.

Organisers will cover the flights, accommodation and meals for participants for the duration of the conference.
