EU Sport Forum 2011
21 February - 23 February 2011, Budapest, Hungary (EU Sport Forum)

The European Journalism Centre and the European Commission are organising an exclusive three-day seminar for EU sport journalists on Europe's sport agenda in Budapest, 21-23 February 2011, held alongside the first ever public EU Sport Forum.
Threats both new and old are affecting the industry as never before: from match fixing to doping, youth exploitation to commercial betting. Meanwhile the economic and social benefits of sport go under-reported in the media.
Our three themes reflect today’s main challenges: sport’s role in society, the financing of sport and threats to open and fair sporting competitions in Europe. The seminar will be moderated by award-winning investigative journalist Declan Hill.
The seminar coincides with the EU Sport Forum 2011: the key platform for dialogue on sport at EU level and the main meeting point among European sport stakeholders. Tailored press briefings with EU sport ministers as well as other stakeholders, including FIFA, UEFA, English Premier League, European Olympic Committees etc. will be held for seminar journalists. The EJC staff will accompany seminar participants to facilitate their work.
Full program will be available shortly.
Deadline for registration: Monday 14 February 2011.
