Covering the Polish Presidency for Catalan Media
20 September - 21 September 2011, Warsaw, Poland (Catalan media)
As the largest of the eight post-Communist countries to become a full member of the EU in 2004, Poland hopes that its upcoming EU presidency will complete its transformation from a newcomer to being at the helm of the European Union.
Despite that Poland is outside of the Eurozone, yet looking to come in, it will not be automatically privy to discussions on economic governance. The Eastern Partnership, the EU budget talks or energy security issues, are also among the guidelines of the Polish EU Presidency.
In order to pave the way to some of these issues, the European Journalism Centre, in co-operation with the EU Representation in Barcelona, will organise a tailor seminar in Warsaw the 21st and 22nd of September for 12 Catalan senior journalists.
The 2-day programme will envisage meetings with MP’s and high-level officials; independent experts, experienced journalists and members of different civil society groups.
The working language of the seminar will be Polish with Spanish interpretation.
