United States of Europe or end of the Eurozone? Discover possible answers soon!

The European Journalism Centre, in cooperation with the European Commission's Directorate General Communication, is pleased to invite you to an exclusive 1-day seminar in Brussels on economic governance and Eurozone growth prospects on the 21st of February 2012.

The European Commission recently put on the table new proposals for stricter budget surveillance and common eurobonds in an attempt to find new tools to protect the Eurozone. Meanwhile, the EU summit provided an agreement to put in place a new treaty meant to tighten economic governance. For some countries it goes too far, but it is widely agreed that without further integration, the Eurozone cannot survive. The common currency entered the crucial year of its existence.

At the same time, the EU countries are in danger of slipping back into the recession and are striving for growth… Can austerity and growth marry each other?

40 journalists and editors from the EU-27 will have the possibility to discover and discuss possible scenarios to this ongoing debate through meetings with top European officials, experts and think tanks. Organisers will cover flights, accommodation and some meals.

If you are interested, apply online at www.ejcseminars.eu.
