Covering the Spring European Council for Euro-area journalists
29 February - 02 March 2012, Brussels (ECFIN 2012)

Will 2012 be an “annus horribilis” for the Eurozone? Or will the Euroclub find its way out of the crisis?
The European Journalism Centre on behalf of the European Commission’s DG ECFIN invites journalists from the Eurozone countries to come to Brussels and discuss these questions with EU officials and independent experts.
The context of the crisis is changing rapidly with reinforcement of economic governance, the downgrading of some Eurozone countries as well as the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) by one of the rating agencies and the ongoing problems in Greece.
Eighteen selected media professionals will attend a series of meetings from 29 February to 2 March 2012. Moreover, they will be given the opportunity to cover the Spring European Council meeting where the 27 heads of states will deal with the most urgent economic problems of the EU and the Eurozone.
The organisers will cover travel expenses, accommodation and most meals.
