A two-day tailor made seminar for Croatian journalists will be organized in Warsaw, Poland, 23-24 April 2012.

Under the theme: “EU funding in practice” the seminar will delve into the situation of agriculture and rural development in Poland in the conditions of European integration. Ahead of Croatia’s planned accession to the EU in July 2013, the trip aims to portray to Croatian media the benefits and challenges of EU membership in these two fields, showcasing the example of Poland.

The programme will provide an opportunity to meet representatives from local and national authorities and discuss such topics as the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy in Poland, the competitiveness of the Polish agriculture in the EU, and European funding's impact on the agriculture and rural development in the country.

Several visits to sustainable agricultural and rural development projects are also envisaged as part of the programme.

For this seminar 12 journalists from Croatian print, online and broadcast media will be selected to take part.

This event is organized by the European Journalism Centre on behalf of the Directorate General Enlargement, European Commission.

The organizers will cover flights, accommodation and meals during the days of the programme.

The participants are expected to arrive on 22 April and depart back on 25 April 2012.
