Learn more about the Single market achievements and come to France!

The European Journalism Centre in cooperation with the European Commission’s DG MARKT is preparing another seminar from the series on the Single market. 30 selected journalists will be invited to come to Strasbourg for this event taking place on 11 September.

The Single market is celebrating its 20th anniversary, so it is the best occasion to speak about the benefits for the EU citizens, as well as the key trends for the future.

The journalists will meet the Chair of the influential Committee for Internal market and Consumer Protection in the European Parliament Malcolm Harbour and very likely also the Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier. Commissioner Barnier will present proposals on a Banking Union and supervision in Strasbourg.

The journalists will also have the opportunity to discuss how the Single market works in practice in this cross-border region, where only a bridge separates two countries, France and Germany. A visit to the European Consumer Centre is also foreseen.
