Get some insight into the economic crisis! It has been a few years since the crisis has been dragging on and we have yet another dramatic season ahead of us… Is Spain going to ask for a full baillout? Can speculations about “grexit” become a reality ? What will come next?
The Eurozone is shifting towards a Banking Union and deeper integration. But is this going to be enough? Some experts are starting to think the unthinkable, the Euro is on the edge…
The European Journalism Centre in cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) is organising another seminar from the successful series on the economic crisis. 18 journalists from the EU 27 countries, covering economic and financial topics will be selected to come to Brussels. They will meet interesting guests from the EU institutions, think-tanks and experts to ask these questions directly...
They will learn more about the economic outlook for the EU, recession and growth prospects for individual member states and take part in the press conference of the Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro Olli Rehn - presenting the Autumn economic forecast.
The group will also meet Maros Sefcovic, the Vice-President of the European Commission, for background informal discussion.
This 2-day seminar will take place on 6 and 7 November 2012 and the organisers will cover travel, accommodation and some meals.
