Building Europe's economic future
21 January - 22 January 2013, Brussels (Economic and Financial Policy 2013)

Following the disappointment of the December 2012 European Council - when EU leaders were not able to agree on a long-term and ambitious roadmap towards the completion of EMU - the question is now shifted to what will now happen to the plan of Genuine Economic and Monetary Union (GEMU) as well as to the process towards deepening financial, fiscal, economic and political integration.
In this context of uncertainty about the future of the EMU, the European Journalism Centre in cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), is tailoring a media seminar for a specialised group of 18 journalists from the EU 27 covering economic and financial topics.
Along with having the possibility to cover the Eurogroup and the ECOFIN meetings, the press conferences with Mr Jean-Claude Juncker and Mr Olli Rehn, the programme foresees the opportunity to discuss with high-level guests from the EU institutions, Members of the European Parliament, representatives from the banking sector, and think-tanks experts.
This 2-day seminar will take place on 21 and 22 January 2013 and the organisers will cover travel, accommodation and some meals. For more information, please contact Clara Maxwell at [email protected] and/or Desiree Ketabchi at [email protected]
This seminar is organised with financial and organisational support from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs.
