A turbulent year has just been left behind. Among the profound uncertainty over Greece and a great concern over Italy and Spain, the effects of the ECB’s liquidity operations were yet to be fully tested in the real economy. Topping it off, endless voices were predicting the break-up of the Euro area.

Although 2013 unfolds with fewer waves of pessimism, the EU's policy response for the year to come is to focus on several work streams ranging from growth and competitiviness and fiscal consolidation, to the progress towards a European banking union.

Amid this economic context, the European Journalism Centre, in cooperation with the European Commission’s DG Economic and Financial Affairs, invites 18 journalists from the EU 27 to participate on seminar held on 4-5 March in Brussels.

Only journalists covering economic and financial affairs shall be eligible to apply.

The selected journalists will have the opportunity to debate with EU officials and independent experts on decisions reached during the Eurogroup and the ECOFIN Council meetings being held in Brussels on the same dates. By the same token, participants will get accredited to cover the aforementioned events.

Flight, accommodation and most meals during the two-day programme will be covered by the organisers.

If you are interested to attend, please apply online at ejcseminars.eu or contact Clara Maxwell at maxwell@ejc.net
