The European Union is a major player in development aid and policy. It provides about half of all public aid to developing countries and is the main trading partner for many developing countries.

This five seminars is bringing together journalists from different African, Caribeean and Pacific countries with colleagues of the 10 Member States that joined in 2004, in order to learn together about EU development policies, information sources and how to bring this complex subject closer to their readers, viewers and listeners. The final selection of participants is made by the relevant Directorate
General of the European Commission.
