Communicating Food Science in Copenhagen

29 October - 30 October 2013, Copenhagen (MAITRE)

Flag:dk

Do scientists know how to engage themselves in the communication process in a proper way?. If not, do the media always give them the opportunity to do so?

Having the above-mentioned questions in mind, the EU-funded project MAITRE is organising a free of charge media training seminar on October 29-30 in cooperation with ICES/Eurofish in Copenhagen.

Overall, the seminar will provide practical and directly applicable advice for dealing with the media. Through hands-on sessions, the attendees will learn the concept of a press release, will practice training for short on-camera news announcements, and will rehearse interview situations, such as on camera, on radio, or in panel debates.

By and large, this workshop pursues to transfer the knowledge and experience of journalists to researchers, in order for the scientific community to better communicate their findings and technical information to the general public.

Ultimately, the MAITRE project aims to contribute to the promotion of food research knowledge in Europe.
