Communicating Food Science in Bremerhaven, Germany

18 November - 19 November 2013, Bremerhaven (MAITRE)

Flag:de

Interactions between the media and food science are ever-increasing. It remains to be seen nonetheless how citizens are informed on matters to which science has contributed.

Having that in mind, on November 18-19 the EU-funded project MAITRE is organising a free of charge media training seminar at the premises of the German provider of research services ttz Bremerhaven.

Overall, the seminar will provide practical and directly applicable advice for dealing with the media. Through hands-on sessions, the attendees will learn the concept of a press release, will practice training for short on-camera news announcements, and will rehearse interview situations, such as on camera, on radio, or in panel debates.

By and large, this workshop pursues to transfer the knowledge and experience of journalists to researchers, in order for the scientific community to better communicate their findings and technical information to the general public.

Ultimately, the MAITRE project aims to contribute to the promotion of food research knowledge in Europe.
