"Moving Europe forward" seminar

20 October - 21 October 2013, Brussels (DG MOVE)


30 journalists from the EU-28 are invited to join on 21-22 October 2013 a two-day event in Brussels on the situation of alternative transport fuels, urban mobility and road safety in Europe.

On the first day, the journalists will have the opportunity to attend the high-profile Clean Power for Transport Conference, with the participation of high-ranking speakers representing the industry, associations, NGOs and foreign administrations in a discussion about the potential of alternative fuels for growth and jobs, the situation of alternative fuels in the world and investments into alternative fuels. The conference will be opened by European Commission Vice-President Siim Kallas and will also showcase several projects at exhibition stands.

The attending journalists will have an exclusive meeting with the European Commission Vice-President Siim Kallas.

On the second day the journalists will have further in-depth background sessions on the topic as well as flash presentations by experts on sustainable urban mobility and road safety policies.

This event is organised by the European Journalism Centre, on behalf of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE).

Journalists are expected to arrive in Brussels on the 20th of October in the evening and depart back to their home countries in the evening of the 22nd of October. The European Commission will cover the flights, accommodation and some meals.
