At a glance, the movement of goods and people across Europe’s borders has never been easier, but
with transport traffic between member states predicted to double in the next decade, the investment required to handle the growth will surpass 1.5 trillion€ by 2030. Realising the capacity to manage the future demands will depend heavily on a trans-European transport network (TEN-T) to make Europe more economically competitive.

In order to understand the potential of a TEN-T network, The European Journalism Centre is organising a media seminar in conjunction with the European Commission’s DG Transport from October 16 to 17 In Tallinn Estonia. "Connecting Europe: on the move to the next TEN-T" will focus on air, rail, sea, and road policy and infrastructure as the vision of creating a single European transport area takes shape.

This two-day event will provide 20 journalists from the EU-28 member states reporting on this sector the chance to learn about the latest policy developments.

More information can be found at: http://www.tentdays2013.eu/home.php

Journalists will also have the opportunity to meet exclusively with the Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas, and in addition will see first-hand the progress of the Baltic region’s transport infrastructure.

The organisers will cover travel, accommodation and most meals.

Please note that journalists specialising in transportation will be given priority in the selection process.
