Older seminars
Economic and Financial Policy for Old Europe
28 August - 31 August 2006, Brussels and Frankfurt (Economic and Financial Policy 2006)

The EJC is organising a series of seminars to give journalists from different EU Member States more information about the Euro. The seminars will address the challenges facing the long-term success of the European Monetary Union, its continued budgetary consolidation and an overview of Member States' economic policies. For journalists in the old member states the introduction of the Euro already seems a long time ago, but the current debate on new member countries joining brings the issue back to the fore.
These seminars are intended to give journalists the tools, background information and understanding of the economic and financial aspects, as well as the potential impact of the Euro introduction that will allow them to produce accurate and informed news about these issues. The final selection of participants is made by the relevant Directorate General of the European Commission.
