In cooperation with the Directorate General Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, the European Journalism Centre, invites 14 journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey to participate in a two-day seminar on the topic of EU enlargement and the reform of the public administration.

The event will take place between 23-24 April 2015 in Warsaw, Poland, and aims to give attending journalists insights into the public administration reform within EU accession in Poland.

This visit to Poland, an European Union member state, has the objective to allow journalists from EU candidate and potential candidate countries to obtain a better understanding of the challenges and also best practices in the field of public administration reform throughout the accession process.

The programme will offer the opportunity to hear from and interact with Polish national experts on best practices from Poland on depoliticisation and professionalisation of the civil service. The seminar will entail visits to national authorities dealing with the civil sector reform, fight against corruption, but also allow the possibility to discuss these issues with representatives from think tanks and civil society organisations.

The flight tickets, accommodation and some meals will be covered by the European Commission.

The participants are expected to arrive in Warsaw on 22 April and return back to their home countries on 25 April.
