On behalf of the European Commission's Directorate General for Health and Food Safety, the European Journalism Centre organises a two-day media seminar on the occasion of the EXPO Milan 2015. This high-level event will take place on 8 and 9 May 2015 in Milan coinciding with the opening week of the world exposition.

Journalists attending this media seminar will meet with senior EU policy-makers dealing with the EU food safety policy and other experts in the field.

Set against the overall theme of the EXPO 2015 is 'Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life', the EU will host an exhibition 'Growing Europe's future together for a better world'. This display will lead the visitor through an engaging story line featuring the EU food supply chain whilst focusing on the example of wheat and bread, the founding elements of the European civilisation. The participants will learn about the EU's current food policies and future technologies, showcasing the European Union as a global partner leading the way to a better and sustainable future for all.

The programme will include panel debates and information sessions on topical issues such as food labelling, GMOs, Antimicrobial Resistance and food fraud.
