Covering the Dutch EU Presidency: Environmental Priorities

The European Journalism Centre (EJC), in cooperation with the European Commission's Directorate General for Environment, invites 15 Dutch journalists to participate in a two-day media seminar "Covering the Dutch EU Presidency: Environmental Priorities".

The event will take place in Brussels on 18 and 19 February 2016.

The aim of the press briefing is to inform Dutch journalists about relevant environmental issues that are high on the Dutch EU Presidency's agenda.

The attending journalists will get a unique opportunity to meet EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu VELLA and have the opportunity to discuss EU environmental and climate change policies with senior EU officials, policy makers and representatives of the Dutch Presidency. Topics to be discussed include the circular economy, urban agenda and green and sustainable transport solutions, wildlife trafficking, Dutch Natura 2000 sites, Climate post Paris update, etc.

Participants will arrive in Brussels on 17 February and depart back on 19 February. Travel, accommodation and most of the meals during the programme will be arranged and covered by the organisers.

The event is exclusively catered for reporters specialised in the field of environment and EU affairs.
