Press trip to Albania27 February - 01 March 2017, Albania (DG NEAR )
The European Journalism Centre, on behalf of the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations department of the European Commission (DG NEAR), will organise a press trip to Tirana, Albania on 27 February -1 March 2017 for a group of 15 journalists from EU media.
As a step forward in the EU integration, Albania was granted EU candidate status in June 2014, and yet the Balkan country still needs to meet some key priorities, with particular focus on administration and justice reform, fight against corruption and organised crime, and fundamental rights.
This study visit seeks primarily to give the participants a good insight into the country’s economic governance and the rule of law, both key enablers for a conducive business environment and opportunities. In order to shed light on the aforementioned issues, participants will meet and discuss with government representatives, local stakeholders from the civil society and the business environment.
Particularly journalists from Germany, France, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Greece are encouraged to apply.
Travel, accommodation and some meals will be covered by the organisers.
