Press trip to Uganda09 May - 12 May 2017, Uganda (DG DEVCO )
The European Commission's Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development in cooperation with the European Journalism Centre organises a press visit to Uganda on 9 - 12 May for 12 EU28 journalists.
The programme will feature field visits to EU funded projects, such as projects financed through the EU Emergency Trust Fund to improve living conditions in slums in Kampala and camps of South Sudanese refugees in Northern Uganda.
In addition to the field visits, journalists will meet high-level EU officials, NGOs working on the ground and Ugandan fellow colleagues. More details on the programme will be made available shortly.
Arrival in Uganda is planned on Monday 8 May and departure on Saturday 13 May (with the option of flying in and out at an earlier or later date, respectively).
Journalists specialised in Africa, development and migration issues will be given priority.
The organisers will cover travel, accommodation, most meals and visa costs. Please note that this press visit may be subject to cancellation at short notice, should circumstances so justify.
