On 1 January 2008, Slovenia will take over the presidency of the European Union for the first time since it joined.
To help Slovenia-based environment editors and correspondents who will be covering the environmental topics on the EU agenda during the presidency, the European Journalism Centre, at the initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG Environment), will hold a programme of briefings by senior officials on 3 and 4 December in Brussels.
The main objective of the programme is to give Slovenia-based reporters any information they may need on the environmental issues that will be dealt with during the Slovenian presidency.
